The Republic of Estonia boasts one of the most advanced digital societies globally, with 99% of public services available online. Despite its small population of just over 1 million, Estonia offers a high quality of life and pristine natural environments. To experience this, you will need to obtain a visa.
With an Estonian visa, you can also travel to other Schengen countries due to the Schengen Agreement. Although there is an Estonian Consulate in Dhaka, Bangladesh, it does not process Estonian visas. Short-term visa applications are managed by the Germany Visa Application Center in Bangladesh, while long-term visa applications are handled by the Estonian Embassy in India.
Short-Term Estonia Visa Application Process
The Germany Visa Application Center in Bangladesh processes Schengen visa applications for Estonia. Follow these steps to apply for a short-term visa:
1. Visit the Germany Visa Application Center website to determine your visa type.
2. Gather and translate your required documents into English, then have them notarized.
3. Complete the Estonia visa application form online, then print and sign it.
4. Schedule an appointment through the Germany Visa Application Center.
5. Go to the visa application center in person to submit your documents.
6. Provide your biometric information.
7. Pay the visa fee at the center on the day of your appointment.
8. Wait for the visa decision and collect your passport.
Long-Term Estonia Visa Application Process
The application process for a long-term Estonia visa is different. Follow these steps for your application:
1. Visit the Estonia Embassy in India’s website.
2. Complete the online visa application form and submit it.
3. Download and print the application form from your email.
4. Sign the printed application form before submitting it to the embassy.
5. Gather, translate, and notarize your required documents.
6. Book an appointment with the Estonia Embassy in India.
7. Visit the embassy in person.
8. Submit your documents and provide biometric information.
9. Pay the visa fee via bank or card
transactions at the embassy.
10. Collect your passport once the visa decision is made.

The fee for a short-term Estonia visa is BDT 9,600, which should be paid at the Germany Visa Application Center. Additionally, there is a service fee charged by the Visa Application Center for processing Schengen visas. For a long-term Estonia visa, the fee for Bangladeshi applicants is BDT 11,925. Note that both the Estonia Embassy and the German Embassy have the authority to adjust visa fees at any time.
The processing time for Estonia visas from Bangladesh, whether short-term or long-term, typically ranges from 15 to 20 working days. This timeframe may be extended if the application requires further scrutiny.
