Arafat Rasul’s passion for processing visas and advising people with immigration rules is rooted in his life story. Arafat was born in Sylhet and naturalised in Bangladesh. Though his family migrated from Persia centuries ago, they had settled in Bangladesh and established in Sylhet. But since a few of his relatives migrated to UK and US, his parents still believed that their best chance for a better life was to immigrate to the United Kingdom. They wanted an opportunity to live the ‘UK Dream’ they had heard so much about.
Therefore, after completing his Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Chittagong, Arafat’s family decided to send him to the UK for further studies. However, his family needed to figure out where or how to start, so they applied through an agent for Arafat’s university admission and completed the process until he got his visa. Though Arafat got his UK Visa for his study, it came with a lot of hassle and harassment from the recruited agent. The agent demanded more money than what he asked before. From that point, every step Arafat took motivated him to become someone who could help others achieve their “Abroad Dream”, as he and his family had completed theirs but with a miserable cost.
Arafat returned to his home country after receiving his UK Post Graduation Diploma in Business Management. He decided to help run his family-owned business, The Healing Homeopathic Pharmacy, which was established by his grandfather in 1947. He has served with his father as the company’s owner, manager, and bookkeeper. While working for his family business, Arafat kept advising people and students regarding their visa applications and helped them to file their documents before submitting them to the embassy.
People start contacting Arafat more often, seeking proper guidelines regarding their visa applications, immigration rules, migration opportunities in different countries, university selections and scholarships. It was hard for Arafat to maintain his traditional family business and immigration advisory and visa solutions service together.
So, with his father’s advice, Arafat founded Bangladesh Immigration Consultation and Visa Solutions (BICAVS) in 2011, a desire to help people achieve their living abroad dream. Initially, Arafat started his services at Zindabazar, Sylhet, from a shared office where he could only put a table and a chair, and there was no turning back. Now BICAVS is known as one of the country’s most prominent and trusted immigration consultancy firms. It provides online and offline support to its clients from its fully furnished office. Arafat keeps focused on supporting the firm’s mission of helping clients secure different visas to enable them to pursue expansion opportunities around the globe, from promising entrepreneurial ventures to reuniting with loved ones.
